COLLAB WITH SAADE X SAADE

We created our first every ring dish at TT! We partnered with Bri Applegate, owner of Saade x Saade to create 20 one of a kind Yin Yang dishes.

"Each ceramic vessel is handmade in Brooklyn, New York. Most vessels are hand thrown on a wheel creating unique "one of a kind" pieces. Stoneware clay is used accenting its natural raw surface, complimented by minimal glazes. All vessels are nonporous, food safe and flexible with temperatures."

- Bri Applegate

Bri creates these handmade pieces all from her studio in Brooklyn, NY. Cups, mugs, bowls, and planters are currently on her site, but these special Yin Yang dishes can only be found at TT

HEALTH-ADE: KOMBUCHA COCKTAILS AT TIC TAIL MARKET

HEALTH-ADE: KOMBUCHA COCKTAILS AT TIC TAIL MARKET

Last month we kicked off the official launch of our Birthstone and Yin Yang collections at Tic Tail, a boutique in the Lower East Side. Tic Tail caries various designers of jewelry, clothes, and home accessories.

We were lucky to indulge in delicious cocktails from one of Tarin Thomas' sponsors; Health-Ade Kombucha. Health-Ade has an impressive list of certifications. Just to name a few; USDA organic, non GMO, certified vegan, and certified R.A.W.

Heres a quick step by step on how to make these yummy cocktails:

Ingredients:

  • Health-Ade Kombucha of your choice (We love the Blood Orange, Carrot & Ginger)
  • Seltzer
  • Fresh Lime
  • 1 oz Casa Noble Tequila (Obviously the most important part of a cocktail)

Directions:

  1. Combine kombucha, seltzer, lime and tequila. Stir.
  2. Pour over ice.
  3. Garnish with your lime and enjoy a refreshing and healthy (soft of) cocktail.

AN INTERVIEW WITH CLEO AHN: THE NARA RING

AN INTERVIEW WITH CLEO AHN: THE NARA RING

This week we got talking with Cleo Ahn. Cleo is the founder and creative director of Primary New York. We worked with Cleo after she gave birth to her daughter to create the NARA ring, which recently developed into our new birthstone collection. Read below to find out how the NARA ring (a spinoff from our Arthur signet ring) came to life.

Where did the name Nara come from?
My husband is Korean so we wanted to find a name that had meaning in Korean but wasn't a typical Korean name. We both loved "Nari" which means Lily in Korean. But towards the end of my pregnancy decided we liked Nara better, it felt more sophisticated for when she's older. But most of our family still nicknames her Nari!
Does it have a meaning?
Like most names it has a few meanings. It's of Greek/Hindu origin and means happy. In Korean Nara means home / country land. In Japanese it means oak. Nara is the original capital of Japan, before Tokyo, which we found out from a cab driver in Tokyo after she was born :) But we were most familiar with the name Nara, because we are big fans of the Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara, who funnily enough paints there badass baby girls that totally look like Nara.
When you had us make that ring for you, why were you drawn to that design?
I love that signet ring, so I wanted something that would fit with its' design and represent Nara for my first Mother's Day. Her middle name is "Sol." I have a Spanish middle name so we wanted her to have one too. So the diamond center as the sun with engraved rays extending out, felt really representative of her spirit.

APRIL BIRTHSTONE

APRIL BIRTHSTONE

APRIL SPOTLIGHT: NARA DIAMOND RING

It's officially April, and as the weather warms up, we're warming up our site with this month's birthstone ring, Diamond. Ahhh a girl's best friend (and a guy's)! You April babies are lucky to represent the diamond. The diamond birthstone ring is a classic piece. Elegant. Modest, but a standout. Simply Beautiful.

After all, April showers bring May Flowers, and we're definitely crying over this piece of jewelry.

Diamond birthstone meaning

Diamonds are thought to bring their wearer everlasting, courage and strength.

Caring for your diamonds

  • If you want your diamonds to hold an everlasting sparkle, it's important to take good care.
  • Try to keep your diamonds away from oils, lotions, soap, and house hold chemicals. These can wear away at your diamonds shine and sparkle.
  • When cleaning your diamond, use a simple ammonia based cleaner. If using a toothbrush, make sure the bristles are nice and soft. In any case, it's always safe to rinse with water and wipe with a soft cloth.
